Follow a candidate from a new signal to recruiter review

Follow one sample candidate from a communication signal to its source, check the job context, and decide whether a recruiter has enough evidence to act.

1. Open Owl Intel

Use a recruiter or manager account for this walkthrough. Under Latest signals, find the sample interaction. The signal can show a candidate, channel, time, explanation, and job when that relationship is available. Owners see an agency view that can include aggregate signals, so their starting screen can differ.

If the sample does not appear, select All evidence and search Conversations. A missing signal does not prove that a candidate has no communication history.

2. Read the original interaction

Select Source on the signal to open its evidence. Check the candidate identity, message direction, and time. Read View source content when it is available. If the source has no usable message or transcript, stop the exercise and ask the person responsible for that record to review it.

Maya's sample message expresses interest with an unresolved start date. Keep both parts of that statement in your review. An interest label alone does not establish availability.

3. Check the candidate and job

Open the Candidate link and review the record. When the signal includes a Job link, open it and compare the requirement with the message. If no job is linked, find and verify the intended job before acting. Confirm which facts came from Maya and which still need a reply.

In this example, the recruiter needs a start-date confirmation. A nursing role can also require separate credential review under the rules for its jurisdiction and facility. Candidate interest does not complete that review.

4. Ask a focused question when useful

Return to Owl Intel and use Ask your evidence. A sample question is: What did Maya Rao say about her start date? Select Ask, read the answer, and open each cited source. The answer can include confidence and suggested actions; check the sources even when confidence is high.

If the answer lacks evidence for Maya's date, record that the date remains unconfirmed. A generated suggestion is not a message sent to the candidate.

5. Correct an inaccurate intent

In Conversations, the Correct insight control appears for evidence linked to a candidate. The current form corrects candidate intent. Enter an evidence-supported value and select Save. The form supplies a standard review reason; it does not offer a separate reason field. Refresh the conversation to inspect the saved result.

Recruiters can correct only communication evidence they are authorized to correct. If access is denied, ask a manager to review the source. Do not use another person's account.

6. Choose the next action

For Maya, the appropriate next step is to confirm the start date through an authorized communication workflow. The recruiter decides and records the follow-up. Any later pipeline movement is a separate action governed by that job's configured requirements.

You have completed the review when you can name the source, explain what it establishes, identify what remains unknown, and assign the next action. Continue with Move candidates through a job pipeline once the actual recruiting event and its prerequisites are complete.
