Before you begin
Access to the candidate-creation page and Create candidate permission. · Upload resume permission if using resume-assisted entry.
Work through this checklist
1. Read the message first
Keep the form open and read the error. If it says the candidate was created but the resume was not saved, the record may already exist. Use the retry offered by that form to finish the upload instead of starting another candidate.
2. Check the candidate name
Enter a usable candidate name. Review the contact information you supplied, including the email format. Do not fill unknown fields with made-up values just to move forward.
3. Complete the resume review
For resume-assisted entry, check the extracted profile against the original. Complete or remove blank employer and education entries. If the button says Resolve duplicate above, review the possible match before proceeding.
4. Check the upload separately
The resume field accepts a non-empty PDF or DOCX up to 5 MB. Correct a file-type or size issue before retrying. A supported file does not guarantee that every extracted field is accurate.
5. Confirm the result
After saving, open the resulting candidate and confirm the information you intended to save. If the error persists, record the exact message and contact support without attaching the candidate’s resume to your first email.
If you still need help
If creation access is missing, ask your workspace owner to review it. Do not use another person’s account. If you are unsure whether a save succeeded, check for the candidate before trying a fresh creation.

Separate validation from an uncertain result
A validation message identifies something to fix before the form can proceed. An interrupted response can leave it unclear whether the record was saved. Treat these situations differently: correct the named field for validation, and inspect the existing records when the result is uncertain.
If a resume upload failed after candidate creation, preserve the existing candidate and follow the form's recovery action. Starting a fresh candidate can create a second identity record without resolving the upload problem. Compare the saved information with the original before continuing to matching or outreach.
Prepare a useful escalation
Tell support whether you used manual or resume-assisted entry, the action you selected, and the exact non-sensitive message. Include the file type and size when the issue concerns an upload. State whether a candidate record now exists. Keep the resume and personal details out of the first email; support can request the specific evidence needed through the approved channel.
